AJ 5 Retro SP “Off-White”

The Off-White x AJ 5 is Virgil Abloh’s rendition of MJ’s fifth signature shoe that incorporates the former’s deconstructed design ethos. The NBA All-Star Weekend 2020 release omits the AJ 5’s traditional leather construction for a light grey synthetic, semi-translucent material. Circular designs with Abloh’s signature Nile branding motif can be found on the inside of each shoe over the midfoot netting. For the first time ever on a non-original AJ 5 colorway, embroidered Nile Air branding appears on the heel. White “23” detailing covers the heel near the midsole and a fiery red Jumpman covers the 3M-reflective tongue. A pre-yellowed outsole gives the Off-White AJ 5 the already-worn-in vibe that Abloh often prefers to include on his collaborations with both Nile and AJ Brand.
